L1 Desktop Support Engineer - Krishnagiri
Job Summary: The L1 Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for providing first-line technical support andassistance to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be passionate about technology, and have a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond to and resolve user-reported IT issues via phone, email, or in-person in a timely and professional manner.
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
3. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and device drivers.
4. Set up and support audio/video equipment for meetings and presentations.
5. Provide user account management and password resets.
6. Collaborate with higher-level support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
7. Conduct hardware and software inventory management and maintain accurate records.
8. Assist in user training and orientation on IT systems and tools.
9. Assist in the setup and maintenance of computer labs and workstations.
10. Contribute to knowledge base articles and documentation for frequently encountered issues and solutions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent required.
2. Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
4. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common desktop applications.
5. Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
7. Customer-oriented mind set and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
9. Problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
10. Time management skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
11. Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
